This is one of those beautifully simple ideas that ticks all the boxes: easy setup, gets you outside, and encourages your child to slow down and observe the world around them. Just wrap a piece of sticky tape (sticky side out) around their wrist like a bracelet, and head out for a nature walk.
As they wander, they can press flowers, petals, leaves, twigs or whatever else they find onto the tape - turning their bracelet into a little wearable collage of the world around them.
It’s the kind...
Cut a length of tape and wrap it gently around your child’s wrist (and yours if you like!) with the sticky side facing out.
Press the ends together to secure it in a loop.
Head outside and let your child find small natural objects to press onto the tape.
Watch their bracelet grow as they explore!
Optionally, take a photo at the end before the petals fall off or before you peel it off to keep as a memento.
Themed hunts: Challenge them to find certain colours, items, shapes, or textures.
Nature memento: Stick it on a piece of paper or cardboard when you get home and label the items you collected
Plant Identification: Take a photo of their bracelet and look up the plants together using a kid-friendly app or guidebook. Turn it into a mini nature study.
